Bohai Pearl is a large-scale coastal viewing structure integrating architecture, landscape, and public use.
The work adopts an upward-lifted shell form, establishing a continuous spatial relationship between land and sea. Structurally, it combines a reinforced concrete base with an upper steel truss system, supporting a cantilever span of approximately 67 meters.
At its center is a circular performance plaza, 36 meters in diameter, accommodating around 1,300 people. Rather than operating as a monument, the work functions as an inhabitable structure—designed for movement, gathering, and occupation.
Here, the shell-and-pearl form is treated not as symbolic imagery, but as a spatial framework where engineering, landscape, and collective activity intersect along the coastline.
