This small-scale public sculpture shifts attention from monumentality to proximity. Placed within a dense commercial street, the work engages the everyday rhythm of the city rather than standing apart from it.

The figure is intentionally simple and approachable, emphasizing gesture and bodily movement over symbolism. Its scale invites encounter at eye level, allowing passersby—especially children—to interact with the sculpture as part of the urban environment.

Rather than representing childhood as nostalgia or innocence, the work treats play as a mode of presence: spontaneous, physical, and embedded in public life.

In contrast to commemorative public sculpture, Childlike Play operates through immediacy. It does not mark an event or convey a narrative; it exists as a moment of pause within the city, where attention briefly shifts from purpose to experience.
