Completed in 2008, Entering University is a bronze public sculpture group installed in Dalian Software Park.
A granite marker bearing the number “30” and a descending sequence of years establishes the historical framework of the work. The number refers to three decades of China’s reform and opening, while the year 1977 recalls the restoration of the national college entrance examination and the reopening of university education to a generation of young people.
The bronze figures represent students from different periods. Early university entrants carry rolled bedding, canvas bags, and simple luggage; a seated figure pauses to read a document; later students arrive with modern travel bags and backpacks, walking forward together.
Rather than reconstructing one specific moment, the sculpture brings several generations into the same public space. Changes in clothing, luggage, posture, and personal belongings become visible signs of social transformation.
The figures are arranged as an open procession rather than a compact monument. The space between the earlier and later students allows the viewer to read the group as a movement through time—from the return of educational opportunity to the expanding role of knowledge and technology in contemporary life.
Installed within a software park, the work connects the experience of entering university with the development of a knowledge-based society.
《入学》创作于2008年，设置于大连软件园，是一组以教育变迁与青年求学为主题的青铜公共雕塑。
作品以刻有数字“30”和连续年份的花岗岩石碑建立历史背景。“30”对应改革开放三十年的时间节点，而1977年则指向恢复高考这一重要历史事件，以及此后重新开启的大学教育机会。
群雕通过不同时期的学生形象展开叙事。早期入学者携带铺盖卷、帆布书包和简朴行李；一位人物坐下查看手中的文件；另一侧较晚年代的青年则携带现代旅行包与背包，相互结伴向前行进。
作品并非还原某一次具体的入学场面，而是将几代大学生并置于同一公共空间。服装、行李、动作与随身物品的变化，成为时代发展与生活方式变迁的视觉标记。
人物没有被组织成封闭、集中的纪念碑式群像，而是形成一列开放的行进队伍。早期学生与后来青年之间保留的空间，使整组雕塑呈现出穿越时间的过程：从教育机会的重新开启，逐渐走向知识与科技在社会发展中不断扩大的作用。
