This sculptural series responds to extreme spatial limitation rather than symbolic display. Installed within a narrow streetscape, the work negotiates proximity, movement, and visibility without obstructing pedestrian flow.
Referencing the Jiubu—the musical divisions of the Tang dynasty—the sculptures avoid literal representation of instruments. Historical reference is condensed into rhythm, spacing, and repetition.
The project treats constraint as structure. Cultural memory is embedded through spatial logic, allowing historical form to coexist with contemporary urban circulation.
