Created in 2009, Prehistoric Era is a monumental curved granite relief wall installed in a dinosaur-themed ecological park in Kangbashi, Ordos.

The relief unfolds along the landscape as a continuous panoramic composition. Dinosaurs, flying reptiles, ancient mammals, dense vegetation, vines, and flowing water are arranged across the curved stone surface, forming an expansive vision of prehistoric life.

Different depths of carving create a layered spatial structure. Large animals occupy the foreground, while plants, geological forms, and smaller creatures extend into the background, giving the long wall a sense of distance and continuous movement.

Rather than reconstructing one specific geological period, the work brings together different prehistoric forms within an imaginative natural environment. The curved wall allows the imagery to appear gradually as visitors move along the surrounding walkway.

Integrated with the woodland, terrain, and viewing platforms of the park, the relief transforms the landscape into an open-air narrative of ancient life and geological time.
