Completed in 2002, White Lotus was installed at the highway entrance to Pulandian, Dalian, serving as a landmark sculpture marking the approach to the city.
The work abstracts the form of a white lotus through a group of upward-rising stainless-steel structures. Curved ribs converge into slender points, creating the impression of lotus buds extending toward the sky.
Perforated metal panels are set between the structural ribs. Their translucent surfaces allow light and air to pass through the sculpture, reducing the visual weight of the metal and giving the large-scale form a lighter, more open presence.
At the centre of the composition is a radiating circular structure, while broad curved elements extend outward around the base. Together, these vertical and horizontal movements create a balance between upward growth and outward expansion.
Placed at a major point of arrival, the sculpture combines the pure visual character of the white lotus with a strong sense of elevation, openness, and renewal.

作品以白莲为造型来源，通过多组向上升起的不锈钢结构，对莲花花苞的形态进行抽象转化。弧形骨架向上汇聚，逐渐收束为细长尖顶，形成挺拔而持续上升的视觉动势。
骨架之间嵌入穿孔金属网板，使光线与空气能够穿过雕塑内部。通透的表面减弱了大型金属结构的厚重感，使整体形态呈现出轻盈、开放的空间特征。
构图中央设置放射状圆形结构，底部则由宽阔的弧形构件向外展开。垂直上升与水平延伸两种力量相互结合，使作品在挺拔之中保持舒展与平衡。
作为城市入口空间中的公共艺术作品，《白莲》以简洁、洁白的形态，传达出向上生长、开放与新生的视觉感受。
